Volleyball fans should check out the Harbor Tournament on 9/20 to be held all day at Harbor High and Soquel High. Always the strongest tournament in the
Monterey Bay area, this years top teams include Harbor, Menlo, ND Salinas, Palo Alto and Aptos as well as out of section powers Deer Valley, Sonoma Valley,
Ponderosa and Liberty. Should be a great tournament.

Agreed. I hope to see ND and Harbor meet up again. Aptos has potential to liven things up as well, wasn't their best effor against ND after the tourney
Who knows what could show up from outside the area, Ponderosa has been strong in the past.

Look for the semi's to be Harbor, Palo Alto, Menlo and Notre Dame with the possibility of Aptos replacing one of those. Menlo would have to be the favorite
to win it. Ponderosa not as strong this year but you can't tell with the out of section teams. Only thing I know is that it is going to be a great
tournament with great matches.

I wish we could get the Tournament Directors to post how everything ended up. It seems as if not all the coaches are posting wins and losses here or any where.
Can't get a good handle on how any of the leagues are doing. I know coaches run a lot but maybe keep the rest of us updated?

While some coaches are very good about reporting results, the overall support of the site so far this year from the girl's side has been very
disappointing. When we began the site 8 years ago, girl's coaches and supporters (volleyball, basketball, softball) were clamboring for coverage and really
drove the growth and popularity of MBayPreps. We have gone from 70-80% extensive contribution from area coaches to probably 30%. Some of it has to do with
coaching turnover and high profile players graduating.
Any suggestions how to remedy this would be greatly appreciated! |
